lol, relax. I've noticed most people on CC are going crazy and pretty much hyperventalating (yes, I my spelling in atrocious, sue me). Things tend to have a way of happening that fits perfectly with your life. You may not see it yet, but in ten years, you will understand exactly why you ended up where. Not that it wont suck if you dont get in, but hey thats life no?

THIS IS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!! - Rejected Northwestern, Berkeley and waitlisted Duke and Rice - let the rejections come!!!! :(

[] major strength/weakness: ECs, a few national awards are my strengths, weakness is my GPA by far.
[] why you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted: See my GPA? Northwestern's average on my naviance is a 4.7. I haven't gotten higher than a C+ in Math since Freshman year. Big schools have plenty of applicants with straight As.
[li] going to attend? I don't know if I'm going to take my place on the waitlist.[/li][/ul]Other Factors:

Northwestern seemed like a cool school! I applied when I got scared that small schools weren't for me to pad my list, but I've since decided that I'm an LAC person all the way. We'll see what happens with NESCAC/Ivies and then I'll decide whether or not to take my place on the waitlist.

Sorry to you two (pvtejasvi and viciouspoultry)! : ( You look like frickin' awesome applicants and will have lots of great options, I'm sure. pvtejasvi, it just looks like you had a lotta bad luck in one day... things'll turn around, I'm sure, looking at your stats!

@ vballerk: They don't have any practical or predictive value, but I know I spent lot of time looking at last year's threads! They're a good way to waste time... although they may cause as much stress as relief!

[] Essays: I was really worried because I had a typo in my CommonApp essay for them (it was about my interest in cognitive neuroscience) and I felt like my Why NU was too generic (because all of the things that honestly attracted me to it were all the same old things that they probably hear all the time).
[] Teacher Recs: I saw them and I really liked them! (:
[] Counselor Rec: Didn't see.
[] Hook (if any): Nawww.
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: MD
[] School Type: Competitive public
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Female
[] Major strength/weakness: Strengths are SAT, GPA, internship doing cognitive science research. Main weakness is that I have nothing exceptional as far as extracurricular stuff (very scattered; just do random things I like) -- I'm that typical "great numbers, no outstanding 'passion'" applicant.
[] Why you think you were accepted/rejected/deferred: Good numbers and clear interest in cognitive neuroscience. :]
[li] Going to attend? Dunno yet. It's one of my favorite schools, but it's also the furthest away, which is actually a turnoff 'cause I don't wanna go too far![/li][/ul]Other Factors: Nothing really!
