oh dear dreamingbig, my chances of getting in has slipped away. I’m in texas for nationals (tennis team); if I get the letter, I’m not there The anticipation is killing me. I guess I’ll have to wait until I get back or call my mother

WOW…I heard nothing from Northwestern yet…i guess I should send them some emails.

I’m going to ask the same question tshirt asked. Do we need to send in our spring grades? I couldn’t find anything about it on the website. My spring grades should be out by tomorrow, and I want to send them right away if they need them.

Im going to say that we dont need our spring grades for the decision. I called today and they said my app is complete without the grades. They do request the grades if you are accepted because they have the right to rescind the acceptance if there is a change in your regular grade trend.

I called and they told me to send them spring grades as soon as they are available.

When I talked to the admissions office, they told me that they don’t make a final decision until they see your final grades for the year. I find it odd that they would make a decision when they only have one semester’s worth of grades in for a student.

I believe in my case they made the decision so quickly, because even with the 4.0 I got this semester, they wouldn’t have admitted me. And to think I was just about to have my final transcript sent tomorrow… guess there’s no point now

DreamingBig, so NU did not have your spring semester/quarter grades yet? Were you going to be a junior transfer?

I’m a junior transfer so maybe that made a difference. Who knows. I guess if they ask to see the grades, then you should send them

No, they only had the mid-term grade report I sent them. I applied as a junior transfer.

Thanks guys.
I got an e-mail from them this morning saying my application was under review, so I guess they don’t need them.

Got the email too and didn’t send a midterm report. I might send it this week though because mine might actually benefit me. And I also left behind one of my portfolio slides (applying for art history and since studio is required for that maybe the portfolio will give my app a boost). Goodluck everyone! If I get into Barnard I’ll most likely withdraw my application… But then again I paid for it so might as well see if I got in lol.

Well after watching this thread for a while I figured I may as well post my stats. I received my email saying my app was under review on 05/03/10.

Hi! Can I have my updated transcript scanned and email the e-copy to the office? Will that work?
Actually, this is not my final transcript, since I am still undergoing the current semester. My final transcript won’t be available untill September. I’m an international.
Thanks~

I got the complete and under review email on April 12th.

Is that early or what?

I guess it all depends on when you sent-in your application. Son didn’t send in his 'til April 30th, and received the e-mail on 5/3 (everything but the actual app. was in much earlier). I suppose since the deadline to apply was 5/1, people will start hearing in another week or so, maybe?

Good Luck to everyone!!

looking at last year’s thread, they made a bulk of the decisions on the 22nd of May. so prob. next week…

Just wondering if all of you have rec’d an applicant ID # or something so you can check the status of your app. on-line? Also, do they notify via e-mail or regular mail?

Thanks.

no i haven’t received an ID. how do you get those? whats the status website?

They don’t do online status. Hate to say it, but you just gotta wait; and if they do the same thing for fall as they did for winter it’s a fedex overnight envelope.
