When’s the latest possible they would tell us?
@kiekers Last year it was end of June
WHAT!!! that is insane
@kiekers I guess when they say “rolling” they really mean it lol
To the people still waiting, when was your file complete?
Mine was April 8
April 15
I was notified of missing material (which I sent back to January) on April 14
I wonder how admission officers will feel if they read College Confidential as well lollllll
same april 8th
April 2nd
I got confirmed on March 11th. Such a long wait
Still nothing today?
I got confirmed late as well, I believe April 29 or 30… I was wondering if my stats qualify me for a spot at NU or at least make me competitive? I got a 3.7 GPA in hs with a 29 ACT. Last semester (aka my first semester) I got a 4.0 GPA from a top 40 public university with two solid college recs. I also volunteer, have a radio show, work for the college newspaper, and am a part of a few other RSOs on campus… I was wait listed last year, but not sure if this is enough to get me in? What do you think?
@uneamericane if you got wait listed last year then there is probably a chance, especially if your essays are good.
*3.7 GPA was unweighted, 4.2 GPA weighted.
@kiekers Hopefully that is a good thing!
I checked some stats from another website and I guess in 2012, NU had an acceptance rate of 12% for transfers; they had something like either 122 or 133 people who were accepted out of a little over 1,000 applicants.
According to NU’s common data set, last year 87 people were accepted from 1533 applicants. The year before, 188 were accepted from 1595 applicants.
Looking to transfer, here are my stats:
School: UChicago, looking to transfer out though since my focus doesn’t apply well here. Looking to pursue a triple major with a school that suits me better.
cGPA: 4.0
High school GPA: 3.8-3.9 (Walter Payton College Prep)
2400 SAT, 36 ACT, 20 AP Exams
Extracurriculars: Renowned All-State, Regional athlete in Wrestling, Tennis, and Soccer. Occasional articles in various academic journals and publications. National Merit, President, and several AP award. All 5s on AP Exams. Multilingual with fluency in French, Italian, Spanish, Latin, Arabic, Swahili and Cantonese. I perform in shows and host several school-based and community-based gatherings. Considered intermediate with a violin and advanced with a Spanish guitar. Participate in Chess Team as captain, member of a highly selective fraternity, student government, honors program as an officer, organize several intramural sporting events, fundraisers, intern, and heavily dedicated to community service whenever I have the time (which ain’t often).
I currently work as a Beta Tester for Microsoft under their UHRS program, have volunteered and campaigned for numerous local politicians. I have a strong presence on certain social media sites and enjoy posting up various tutorials on computer hardware and martial arts advice. I have a small shop I run in my dorm in which I repair electronics and have done so while legally being noted as a small business owner for the past six years. In Walter Peyton, I participated as the school’s president for the student council and hope that I can get into Northwestern. My recs have been done by some former alderman of Chicago. I just hope that they’re willing to work with me and accept me since I’m going to three different colleges under them! Going to be crazy!
I received my email telling me my application was complete on april 6. does anyone have any idea how much longer i’m going to have to wait to find out if i’m accepted or rejected? i need to put down a deposit for UVA by may 15, and i still have to here back from 4 schools including nw… ugh
@jaygoodiez apparently it could be as long as the end of June… So you might just have to put down a deposit and potentially lose that money to be safe
@kiekers :-o ugh. well, thanks for the info
What you guys think of my stats? Think they’re willing to work with me?
