northwestern/uchicago/dartmouth/duke/amherst

wow, thanks for the all the great suggestions!

I think that, as of now, i’m leaning toward pre-med.

From what I have researched and from the opinions extracted from this thread:

Duke: has the best research opportunities. however, as an undergrad i might be overshadowed by grad students. not as much personal attention.

Amherst: awesome personal attention. undergrads are treated very well and it would be easier to obtain grants, etc. Rec letters would be better for applying to med school.

UChicago: it’d be harder to do pre-med here because of gpa deflation.

Northwestern: great all-around school but not the best for pre-med.

Dartmouth: decent for premed. however, more of a Wall-Street feeder.

THE VERDICT: Duke and Amherst do the best job of sending pre-med students to top medical schools (e.g. harvard med, duke med, jhu med, etc.) (and Amherst is beastly in pre-law as well along with UC)

please correct me if i’m coming to the wrong conclusions… :)
