Hi im currently attending a community college (Triton College). I have a 4.0 GPA and im starting my sophomore year here. Im planning on transferring soon, the school i want to transfer to is UIUC (i want to go into Biology and Pre-Med). My friends make it seem like UIUC is super hard to get into. Is it? Also, i dont know if there is a point for me to apply to northwester. This school has been my dream school, but i dont know what are my chances. I made presidents list here at Triton every semester , i have extensive community service with the salvation army. I have Biology and Chemistry professors that finished Ann Harbor and University of Pennsylvanian that gave me very good letters of recommendations. So i want to know... do i have a chance to get into UIUC? And most importantly is there even a point for me to apply to Northwestern?

UIUC’s college of arts and sciences isn’t very competitive. On the other hand, NU is very competitive. Not to mention, they don’t take many CC transfers. That said, I wouldn’t discourage you from applying to NU but keep in mind that only 20 of the 200 annual transfers that are accepted come from CCs.
