I applied transfer to Northwestern University as an environmental science student. I am currently a DePaul University Student studying escience.

4.0/4.0 freshman depaul quarter (currently 3.7/4.0 after winter quarter however these were not sent to NW)
4.7/5.0 at a rigorious public high school AP courses included
27 ACT composite ( i know it is low for Northwestern--I hope my 29 science subscore will help)

Ultimate Frisbee for senior year
Volleyball (up to JV) for freshman to junior year
Very strong recommendation letters from english teacher and band director
Pretty strong essays
Legacy of Grandfather going to NW;Uncle went to Northwestern

My other options for sophomore year (stay at depaul--don't like the lack of community-involvement-academics are great like the professors-chicago is awesome OR transfer to U of I--stronger escience program--more prestigious--decent scholarship---much more involvement and would be in band/drum line hopefully)

Please give me advice/honest opionion

ps. Northwestern notifies in may/june AFTER I am required to decided between U of I or depaul

Very good EC’s. ACT score may need to increase (I also have standardized testing problems so we are on the same boat? ) having hooks to NW is also good (unfortunately my only hooks are for UMD.) What is your intended major?

Just buy an ACT book and work on it every day for like 10 mins
If you get that ACT up just a little you will be good.
Its not even like brains really, its just test taking skill

Even tho your ACT is low, your EC’s, a great essay and the fact that you would continue the legacy since you’re grandfather and uncle went there. Sounds to me like you will have very high chances.
