Northwestern University Early Decision thread 2010

The first thing I’ll do if i get rejected: Punch someone right in the face in anger
The first thing I’ll do if i get accepted: Punch someone right in the face in celebration

Rejected:
Start swearing

Accepted:
Scream and shortly after burst into the chorus of “all we do is win”. Then post on this thread. Lmao.

And yeah! Crazyyy haha we should all like have an ED CC REUNION! LOL

lol Rejected: Cry then punch something (like a pillow, I’l be sad but I dont wanna break my hand on top of my rejection).
Accepted: Cry then do a backflip, then have a celebration meal, tell my friends, listen to “all we do is win” (i love that song sparkles2015), sit and stare at the page in bliss, etc.

hmm lots of stuff to get prepared for haha. please be an acceptance!

Rejected: Let’s not talk about it.
Accepted: I go to a residential high school, so run around the dorm shrieking and then run down to the teachers’ offices to say thank you and get high-fives and whatnot. Oh, and figure out how to change the color of my facebook status to purple. :)

@imi1928 hahaha Ya the last thing I want to do after being rejected is break my hand. Last time I got mad i did break my hand!

if i get rejected i probably will just swear a bunch and scream in my room then not go to school the next day

if i get accepted i will literally jump up and down, blast some crazy music, tell all my friends and just be soo happy haha

also, the thing about the increased applications sucks, but i think the acceptance rate will stay around the same bc they love us showing NU is our #1 so im sure the ED applicants that are accpeted will make up a higher % of the class than ever before

@DESTROER yeah, just trying to think ahead. i dont think i can afford college and the hospital bills. haha

ugh its only been one more day…

Did anybody else do an interview? I did one, and I was kind of disappointed. The alum was in her forties, so she had basically no idea of what current student life is like.

No, i dint get the chance. But i regret not doing it, NU was a kinda a last miunte decision. I decided that i wanted to go here indefinetly on like the 16th of Oct. so there wasnt much time to schedule an interview.

does not having an interview hurt your chances? I never did one…

It doesnt hurt your chances because only a few students get to do one. I did one and the lady seemed to like me. It was kinda fun even. But she was prettty old. Like 55 or maybe older. She had been interviewing for 20 years and I was the only person ever to wear a suite. She thought that was pretty snazy!

I did research too, in microbiology… I hope this helps!

Also, where do we go to see our admissions decision?

I hate you both… for going above and beyond doing interviews, research and such… and now you have a better chance then me :(

apparently, interviews are just used for informational purposes, not admissions. im sure if you have an awesome one, the they will make note of it, but if you didn’t have one, it won’t hurt you…

i tried to schedule one a few weeks ago, but they said it was too late :/

i got an interview and did research in psychology (i applied to sesp)…but i’m still so afraid :frowning: i wish it were mid-december! do they surprise email you saying “hey decisions are up!” or do they give you a few days warning?

I heard you get an e-mail, and then an official letter a few days later.

I did research in poetry. But that was also my hook for my essay, so doing the research supplement ended up being a little repetitive.

And erjeps, I’ve been creeping all over these forums, and I saw your chance thing. You’ve got a really great shot. (I remember this, because our stats are about the same, so seeing people chance you well made me feel better.)

@erjeps I saw your chance thread too! just barely. You have a great shot. 34 act. great stuff. gpa. crazyy stuff. good job!

Thanks!!! That is reassuring to hear I have a chance… Haha I’m getting my hopes up though.

The only thing I want more from an acceptance letter from Northwestern is an acceptance letter from Hogwarts.
