You have to put that the wortht minus what you owe is at least 0. You cant have negatives so it has not been altered for those whose houses have lost a lot of value. So, if your house is now worth 200,000 but you bought it for 225,000 I dont think you can show that

I really do believe they don’t admit based on your ability to pay, it’s something that NU seems very proud of and I believe it to be true. For the value of our home, we used the State Equalized Value times 2 which is available on your tax forms. You could probably get it from your home owners insurance as well. We actually do owe more on our home than it is worth. We just left 0 in the equity. A message came up after we hit submit saying there was an error that the value of the home was less than was owed, and that if this was actually the case, just hit continue.

I’m an international application so I don’t even bother to apply for scholarship since they tell me that NU seldom provide International applicants with financial aid.

I didn’t do it either. My family is pretty well off, and my parents didn’t seem to think it was worth the effort. I’m hoping to be thrown something meager for academic merit.

Hello everyone! Anxiously waiting to hear back from NU… Any idea when it’ll be? Someone said the Monday of the week of the deadline (the 13th). I’m hoping sooner.

I think all of us can agree that we want to know sooner!!

This morning, I was sick and home from school… I spent all, I mean ALL morning researching every single dorm! Every video, every review… They aren’t very nice not nevertheless I am still sooo excited!!!

Also, as I was watching videos of students reviewing the dorms, there was not even ONE attractive person. Are “Northwestern-er’s” typically ugly?

Ha… just a thought…

oh wow weird! erjeps I was home sick today and i did the exact same thing! I was trying to plan out how to make the room look nicer if i got accepted lol

Hot guys/girls are not going to want to be interviewed about the dorms… they are out having a life. Which is why they aren’t in any review videos.

There better be hot guys otherwise I won’t be able to function.

haha. My tour guide was really pretty if that counts for anything.

How recent are those videos? I heard they did a HUGE renovation over the summer.

thanks for the input on my other questions. Also, for the people who submitted CSS PRofile and who have a home, how did you answer the question on what is your mortgage payment? Did you include principle, int, taxes, and ins or PI only?

How exactly do we find out…

I really regret that I didn’t apply financial aid. they say NU does not offer international students FA. I don’t know if it is true but I just gave up the opportunity.

Well actually there’s still about 3 hours to do the CSS.

And I’m goning to agree that hopefully hot people are doing something else but are still present at NU haha

idic5 plans…

NU laughs

haha

:)

Besides, you can apply for financial aid throughout the year. the deadline is for those who want a package along with their admission decision.

I’m feeling good about the aid I’ll be awarded. I was automatically qualified for a fee waiver

So if I checked that I was applying for financial aid but missed the deadline what happens?

I only put the princ and interest in the mortgage payment. Not sure that’s correct though. I am rootin for all of you! Good luck!

Will they send an e-mail or an actual letter? Both?

Both, probably.

david, if you look back to my post #256 there is a copy of NU’s response to my question about how you are contacted. You will get both an email and a postal letter. 13 more days!
