has anyone called and asked for an admissions decision? apparently people from my school did, and they were told! i’m too scared to!

^wait was this last year or like now? and was this NU r another school?

now! it was for northwestern

weinstockxx… yea i don’t know what I will do without attractive guys either!! AHHH, there has to be at least a few :P

and WHAT!!! someone please call and tell me if this is true…

If I get accepted to Northwestern you’ll have at least one attractive guy there ;)

…

(Too bad I’m not single)

when i called they said that they don’t give decisions over the phone :(

holmes- those people are lying to you.

well aren’t you a lil cocky plantsvs!

When do y’all think that NU admissions make their decision? Do they come down to 12-15? Have they already made their decisions and now the (presumably) accepted apps are in FA (for the ones that selected FA)?

From another thread on this sub forum it appears that at least some apps already have public decisions, the QB apps. Obviously, what I call “36cubed” apps (36 on ACT or equiv, perfect academics w/ highest rigor, and the equivalent of perfect ECs) are probably already in some sort of YES pile, and if the 36 cubed app is also full pay, they get a mint and a red ribbon on the envelope :). The rest of the apps is why they pay FAOs their salary.

I still had some FA questions/clarifications for NU even tho I submitted the package yesterday. But why should I follow up with them - and why should they spend more time on the app - if the app was already rejected? If an FA person says about now (post 12-1) that they do not have my app, that might not be a good sign. Again, why would admissions give rejected apps to the FA dept? On the other hand, maybe I should call to clarify in case the app is still in the running.

ekkk! I applied ED to Weinberg. I am so anxious! I can’t believe in like 8 days or so, we all will know! good luck everyone :)

Agh, all that talk about housing got me into researching the dorms, too! They all look superior to the dorm I live in now, so I’m not too worried. I even looked at meal plans a little bit.

It’s so hard to focus on schoolwork!!! All I think about it Dec 15… hahaha yikes

Oh reallly.

idic5, you got me thinking…has anyone recieved notification that Financial Aide has your CSS Profile? We haven’t heard anything.

just voicing my excitement still… i can’t bring myself to work on other apps, even though i know i should- just in case i don’t get in to NU. Can’t wait to get my letter; hopefully it’ll be a good one.

I was the same way. All my other schools had a “why do you want to go here” essay, and they were so hard to write, because I don’t want to go to any other school.

graces, i saw your reference to your current dorm that you have now. Are you a transfer student? Can an xfer student do ED?

No, I go to boarding school, which is why I’m almost constantly on the computer. I operate on a college schedule, so I’m not necessarily in school all day.

Okay so I just joined this little thread. Do you think we’re really not going to know until the 15th? I’m asking because a ton of my friends applied to calpoly early decision and they weren’t supposed to find out until December 15th, but they were told today through a web portal or something. So basically I’ve spent the last hour trying to beat the system and find a way to see if I got in or not…no prevail.

mrs,

did u say u wanted FA on the ED app?

what about what idic5 referred to above - call and ask a bunch of highly detailed questions about FA and if they say they do not have your file, maybe you can assume negatory, and if they give u time and answers to the questions, maybe that points to an affirmative decision? why wd they spend a bunch of time on a rejected app?
