Northwestern University Fall 2022 Transfer Thread

omg did you apply for financial aid? I don’t even have the tab of financial aid on my portal

I didn’t apply for financial aid but the tab still appears on my portal.

Same

that’s weird… r u guys US citizens though (Cuz I’m an international student so probably that’s the difference?)

No im from the US, it may be bc i selected the financial aid option on common app (even though i didnt end up applying for it)

Fair point. Hope it won’t really matter whether there’s a tab or not lolll

Do you guys think another wave will come out tomorrow?

I think they usually come out on Friday.

I think so! Another wave is coming out tomorrow. Good Luck guys!

Oops. Friday

Are we expecting tomorrow’s wave to be more acceptances/waitlists or rejections?

Has there been any waitlist yet?

Not sure – I am anxiously awaiting my decision – could there be a wave today?

I think it’s probably gonna be tomorrow. Two waves passed. Haven’t heard back anything.

Currently a rising sophomore accepted during first wave (April 15th) to McCormick School of Engineering (intending mechanical engineering major).

High school UW GPA: ~3.75 (I know that’s low but I attended a very elite private high school that’s notorious for rigor)

College GPA: 4.0 (small school, studying physics)

Test Scores: 34 ACT (taken fall 2019 when I was a high school sophomore, probably could have done better if I waited to take it later), 790 Math II (taken in 2019)

ECs: Robotics team captain, various prestigious research programs/fellowships, coding tutor, drone club founder

Rec 1: 10/10, well-known tenured biology Professor from intro writing course. Coming from a smaller college, I spent lots of time with her. Not that it matters but her family also had long lineages at NU so she knew a lot about the school.

Rec 2: 10/10, tenured physics professor. I thrived in his class. Awesome dude.

Rec 3: 11/10 high school teacher. Spent considerable time together working on various projects (even on weekends). Described my challenges during Covid.

Personal Statement: 10/10 multiple people told me it was exceptional but who knows :man_shrugging:

Why Northwestern: 8/10 wrote it 2 hours before it was due.

Excited to be a wildcat next year!

feeling a little nervous now… was rejected from UVA with a 3.5 at berkeley and I need to get back to Michigan by May 1st but id prefer NU over UMich

I was in a similar situation I just put down a deposit at Michigan so I have somewhere to go especially knowing it might be an additional month until I hear from NU super annoying how they have a May 1st deadline because many schools won’t even release their decisions by then
