Hey guys Im a sophomore at MSJHS. I am really interested in the HMPE program at Northwestern University. But I dont know if my GPA can get me in. Please tell me how I can improve my chances into getting into this program. Here are my stats so far:

3.67 GPA (unweighted)(I've taken all honors classes)- (I know this is low but my school is ranked 36 in the nation will that help me at any point in my college application?)

2360 on SAT ISAT II CHEM- 800; SAT II BIO- 800; SAT II MATH 2- 800

Sports: I am on the varsity basketball and track team for two years and I will continue to play for the next two years.

Doctor Shadowing at Kaiser and Washington Mutual Hospital

Im planning on doing an internship at a University during my Summer of Junior Year.

I volunteered for 3 weeks in a Hospital near Chicago

I think I can get very good letter of recs from my English Teacher and Science teacher

Clubs: Med Corps; Red Cross; Cure for Cancer

Next Year Classes:
AP BIO
AP CHEM
AP STATS
Honors English 11H (weighted)
Honors Pre-Calc (weighted)
World History

Im sorry I forgot to mention that I received a 5 on the AP English/ Literature and a 5 on AP Psychology

That gpa is still probably too low. Keep in mind, around a 1000 or more applicants competing for less than 20 spots (correct me if I’m wrong). I don’t think the gpa will cut it considering HPME is one of the more selective med programs.

Can you can tell me of any other possible BS/MD programs that I can get into with my stats.

1000 people get the application (3000 request it), 150 get interviewed and about 40 offered a position. So you will know early on if your request for application is not accepted.

Make sure your unweighted GPA improves during the junior year and come back and ask again. Your SAT I and II scores are impressive.

Hey thanks guys for the feedback!! Another thing, will colleges like Northwestern, UC San Diego, and other competitive schools with a Guaranteed Med Program even look at my application if I dont have a 4.0. I think my SAT scores are pretty decent and I got a 35 on the ACT. So will they even look at those. Also can you give me some suggestions on other ecs that I should do to raise my chances for getting into programs like this!!! Thankkss
