Northwestern University - How Selective Is Admission?

I came from a community college where I attained a 3.8 GPA. I currently attend another Big Ten university and have a 4.0 GPA. My SAT scores are low for Northwestern and plan on retaking them in the near future. My high school experience was terrible; I achieved a 2.2 GPA. As to why my HS GPA was that low...I'd rather not go into it. I was a goofball in high school - let's just put it that way.

How much weight does Northwestern University put on ECs? Recommendations? SAT scores? Subject Tests? High School? My ECs are lacking, too. I haven't been as involved as I want to be. I'm a Chemical Engineering major and classwork eats up a lot of my free time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can anyone chime in on this one?

Why do you want to transfer from your Big Ten university? I think it would look kind of odd transferring from CC to a 4-year to another 4-year without a valid reason.

I want to transfer because Northwestern University is a top-tier school and mine is not. That probably isn’t a valid reason, though.

Can anyone tell me how competitive transfer admissions are, though?

Look at their common data set

Where would I be able to find that?

Nevermind. I found it.
