I want to go into a business/marketing/entrepreneurship related field. Wash U has the Olin b-school - NU does not have a business school but has a similar communications major and marketing/business certificates.

NU
quarter system. Will be harder, but will create better work ethic and I can take more classes
slightly higher prestige
they take really good care of you in terms of job placement - it's easy to get an internship or job

Wash U
really liked the laid-back atmosphere - everyone just seems so happy
great b-school, possibly more directly tailored toward my interests
not as cold as NU
guaranteed housing

both campuses are beautiful. I don't care that much about sports. The location is a secondary concern because honestly I probably will stay on campus most of the time.

Opinions?

Northwestern definitely has a business school (Kellogg). I believe it’s consistently ranked in the top 5 business schools on US News.

communications at NU is fantastic.

^^ No, it doesnt have one for undergraduate. Kellogg is a Graduate School of Business.

I dont think there is much difference between the two schools in term of prestige. But I would say that NU has more name recognition outside the US because of Kellogg (International students tend to study business and not liberal arts). You just have to see which one fits you best. I have been to both schools and I dont really like Northwestern campus. But I know people who thinks it has its own style. In my opinion, WashU has a more closed campus and a little bit smaller undergraduate student body. NU on the other hand has more school spirit cos of its involvement in Big Ten and I think it has this on going rivalry with UChicago which I think is a good thing.
