By HS kids, yes. That seems pretty obvious…

But not necesarily by the margins that indicates. It also probably reflects that people would rather go to school in Durham, NC or NYC than in the suburbs of Chicago, where the winter winds can cause your tears to freeze as soon as they leave your eye.

No, it doesn’t. That’d be because it is more prestigious AND becuase people who apply to U Chicago at all are more likely to attend U Chicago over NU. It’s the “Notre Dame effect.” Amazinggggggg. What is your point exactly? U

You’ve been ■■■■■■■■ around ND, Duke, and NU boards since you signed up with CC. That’s pretty much what the only thing you’ve “contributed” on CC. These schools are comparable to some of the Ivies in many ways.

In the real world, as long as one has above average IQ, analytical intelligence matters less than practical intelligence/personality in determining his/her future success. People can easily take some grads from 2nd-tier schools over HYP grads that keep acting like jerks.

Not to sidetrack the issue but my wife who has worked at Intel for 20 years has repeatedly told me that Intel is reluctant to hire UC grads as they are too theoretical and not very productive. Same goes for CMU. D will attend Medill.
