Hey, I'm having a really really hard time deciding between the two. I'm and undecided student that could really go either way into sciences or liberal arts. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Well, NU has significantly stronger faculty, researchers, and research. It has nicer facilities, wider range of academic disciplines, and higher rankings in just about any liberal arts or sciences fields (except may certain languages). Can’t say how different in terms of what you learn inside the classrooms though.

I’d agree with Sam Lee here. Georgetown’s limited endowment often translates into larger class sizes and lots of adjuncts, even at SFS. Northwestern’s superiority in academic strength is gaping in the sciences - less so, elsewhere.

The real strength at Georgetown lies in their location. DC, and thereby the school, attracts a lot of name brand visitors. Government related internships couldn’t be closer. The other side of the coin - Chicago dwarfs DC in almost all other internship opportuniities. DC is still a relatively small city that is pretty much all about the federal gov’t.

Another unavoidable issue is Georgetown’s Jesuit/Catholic identity. Religion permeates the campus. Not to the degree seen at ND, for example, but unavoidable pretty much at every turn. Not for everyone.

Academically, Northwestern is stronger in the fields you want to pursue.

Socially, I hear Georgetown is a blast haha.
