Depends on your preferences, ya know? Do you wanna pay more for NW? I’d save the extra cost of attending NW for med school. Just my two cents.

I was accepted to both Northwestern and UCLA this fall. I didn’t get any aid from Northwestern so UCLA was an easy choice for me. However, I would still choose UCLA even if Northwestern reduced the cost to match UCLA’s price. Personally, I feel as though the educational quality and opportunities offered by Northwestern are really no different than those offered by UCLA Furthermore, I prefer the warm weather in California. Having lived here for most of my life, I’ve become very accustomed to the weather. Unfortunately, Northwestern’s climate is very windy and cold; I find it very unpleasant. I also saw much more campus buzz at UCLA than Northwestern. Perhaps the reason the students are so energized is because UCLA’s is awesome (whereas Northwestern’s food was really a bunch of crap)

If you want to go pre-med UCLA may also be a better fit. According to USNWR, UCLA’s med school outranks Northwestern’s med school in both Research and Primary care. And as others have pointed out, med school costs $$$. Unless you are really rolling in the dough, it’s going to be imperative that you save as much money as you can.
