Which school in your opinion has a stronger theater department? Which school does theater matter to the students, faculty, and surroundings more?

Northwestern has a dedicated theater program within its School of Communications that is renowned as one of the best in the country.

Perhaps you mean Penn State, collegesearch? (University of Pennsylvania doesn’t have an acting program; however, it is an ivy league school where it is possible to major in Theatre Arts.)

Penn State is renowned for Musical Theatre…not so much for Acting.

Northwestern has a fabulous BA program. As you may know, the school is very selective, admissions-wise.

No, I meant UPenn - they have a theatre arts program and a large extra-curricular theatre program

Northwestern’s student theatre community is unlike anything else in the nation. And the theatre department within the School of Communication breeds some of the most intelligent, educated theatre professionals you’ll find. I have no idea about Penn, but Northwestern’s program is considered one of the best in the country. Sam Lee posted some links, but there’s so much more even in addition to that.

Northwestern, hands down. Not even debatable.
