I received a call today from admissions saying that I had gotten off the waitlist and was offered a spot for the class of 2018.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm a bit skeptical because I never received any e-mails or anything concerning my waitlist status and the call was really out of the blue.

Typically the wait listed students get a call from the university; this is the norm with most of the schools. Congrats!

Call them back and ask them if you are off.

Do you mind telling us what region you are in? Also, does anyone have a clue as to how many people will be taken off the waitlist for NU this year?

I’m in the midwest region. And the caller told me that she would call again today at around the same time she called yesterday.

You should get an email and/or official letter too

Congrats Northwestern is an amazing school. I got an amazing vibe from it when doing research on the school

Did you end up accepting your spot in the Class of 2018? I was also wait-listed earlier this year, and I am hoping they didn’t send out all the wait-list acceptances already. Also, did you send any additional supplemental materials to Northwestern? Regardless, congratulations on your acceptance, I bet it feels awesome to finally have another option!

Has anyone else heard from NU? I am on the wait list and I hope I hear back from them, whether it be an acceptance, a rejection, or an extended spot on the wait list. I just want to know!

Any updates?

So it looks like Northwestern took in 50 people from the waitlist. Here’s a link to the article that posted on The Daily Northwestern:
