Northwestern...

What do you all think my chances would be like for transfering into Northwestern, Columbia, or Stanford???

GPA at a top 20 university (up through 1st semester Soph. year): 3.73
--but my gpa is going up a lot (i got a 4.0 this semester) so hopefully ill pull it up some more.
SAT: 1400 V:750 M: 650
SATIIs: Writing 760, Lit. 730, US hist. 690
HS GPA/ rank- Not given but I went to one of the best private schools in the country and I would guess around a 3.5---but I improved drastically from freshmen to senior year.
ECs: Tutor in an inner-city elementary school for 5 hours a week, section editor for a school magazine, residence hall community service chair, tour guide, I interned for a broker this summer.

Any advice/ thoughts?

bump bump bump.

i think your chances are good. Try expressing why you want to transfer. Remember that academic reasons are better than personal ones.

Do you really want to transfer to comlubia? Don't they offer very little finaid to transfers?

yes, I really hope to get into columbia, stanford, or northwestern. I would go to any of those. I haven't heard anything about them not offering a lot of financial aid to transfers, or at least no worse than any other schools. But the school I go to now is just as expensive and not as well regarded.
