Northwestern's Subject Test policy

I know that Northwestern recommends that an applicant takes three subject tests, however I only think that I can get a 700+ on math II and USH. So do you think it will hurt my chances if I take the lit test and only end up with 600, or should I just stick to my two solid subject test scores. In addition to this, I got a 730 on the critical reading, so do you think it will make my reading look like a fluke if I only get a 600 on the lit?

Number one, i am impressed that u are taking the USH sat II because personally i think that any history course sat test would be really hard. Have you taken Enriched or AP Physics yet? It is easy to get really high on that sat because you can miss a lot of questions and still get an 800. (I think you can miss at least 15 pts and still have an 800)

I got in with only the Math II and USH tests. You should be fine unless your major is english related.

I am in physics honors, but my teacher is horrible, so I would not be prepared for the physics subject test . Also, would you consider economic english related?

Like LazyAznBoY, I only took the USH and MII subject tests and got in. I’m sure you’re fine.

@ olleger/OP:
i took the USH test june after junior year and i was fine. especially if you’re prepared for the USH ap, don’t worry about it. i got mid-700s easily without studying.

I took Math II, Chem, and Lit. I bombed the Lit test (590), and got a 730 on M and 680 on Chem, and I got in…But I applied to engineering so I don’t know if they even looked at Lit.

I didn’t take ANY and I still got in. Notice that these tests aren’t required, just “recommended.” I would say take the ones you feel comfortable with. From my point of view, the SAT II’s for Northwestern are like icing on the cake - they’re not going to NOT accept you if you don’t have 3 SAT II’s
