Incoming freshman honors student; indicated a preference for honors housing; assigned "Northwood Community Apartments."

Very confused. According to website, Northwood Community Apartments "house graduate students, students with families, faculty, staff and other members of the University family."

Which housing/hall/apartment does Northwood Community Apartments refer to?

Even if I were assigned Northwood III, description on housing website says "This University of Michigan apartment community is home to hundreds of sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students."

But I'm an incoming freshman, and not a sophomore/junior/senior.

Is this a mistake? Do incoming honor students usually end up in south quad or other honors housing?

to answer your question yes most honors students (i had thought all) live in south quad. however i don’t think your situation is a huge problem i was an lsa freshman last year living in northwood 3 with 2 other freshmen (engineers) and i got to know a couple of other northwood freshmen too (lsa and engineers). seeing as you’re in northwood 3 you’ll be close to bursley where many other freshmen live so don’t worry you won’t be stuck with a bunch of upperclassmen. i, for a fact, actually know more north campus freshmen then upperclassmen. besides, north campus is quite pretty you’ll become friends with the ducks and deers too! just watch out for duck crap when going to do your laundry :)

Click on the housing contract link, select your meal plan and then it will show you your actual contract…you’re most likely not in Northwood. For some reason, they are presenting this way.

i’m in the exact same situation. I haven’t chosen my meal plan (just got the email about my contract) so i have to discuss with the parentals, but I was a bit worried too (caught off guard is more like it). BTW, i’m not an honors student, i’m just an incoming LSA freshman.
