Norwegian int. student

Hello,
I'm a 19 year old Norwegian who wants to go to college in the United States. It has been a dream for many years, and I am about to apply for the following schools: Purdue, U of Washington, Oregon State, U of Florida, San Diego State, Washington State.

My grades:
The Norwegian grading system is obviously different then the US system. Our grading system goes like this: From 1 to 6. 1 is failing, 6 is the best.
My grade average is 4.2.

In Norway, this is a fairly good grade average, and I would probably get into most colleges with these grades. But I am concerned that it might not be enough in American standards. I don't know if it is easier to get good grades in USA, or if Norwegians are generally doing bad in school, but thats the way it is.

Extracurricular activity:
Extracurricular activities has nothing to do with schools in Norway. It does not add in to the equation when we apply for college in Norway, so it's not too common to do any. If you want to do any extracurricular activities however, it is all voluntary.

I did however do some community service and youth politics during high school.

TOEFL:
I did the TOEFL test today, but I have not gotten my results yet,

SAT:
I am not taking the SAT test.

I know that it might be hard to pass a judgment whether I have a chance or not out of the small amounts of facts I have provided, but please give it a try.

I am thinking of majoring in Business or Hospitality Management.

So, what do you think my chances are? If the schools are out of reach, which schools would you recommend?

Thank you for your time!

Hi , I’m sorry, I can’t chance you , if I did it would probably be inaccurate but I can try and help you understand the whole grading system. You see, I found this website that converts grades from different countries around the world to the U.S. standard, I don’t know how reliable it is but it seems quite a bunch of people like to use it. So here it is:

[WES Grade Conversion Guide: Norway](http://www.wes.org/gradeconversionguide/norway.htm)

Hope I could help atleast a little bit :)

However, if what you say is correct which is 1 being a failure and 6 being the best, I think you should flip the table upside down (that is, A= 4.1-6.0 and F = 1.0-2.3). Anyway, Good Luck :)
