I've asked about this before, but haven't really gotten a definitive answer.

I won't be 18 in august/september. Can anyone outline what will happen with me and others who are still 17 during the Frosh events? I'm in the Science Viva Las Vegas one...can I just mail int he form saying I'm 18 as of the event, or do the upperclassmen seriously enforce it? Anyways,I'd just like an answer as to what will happen.

the frosh leaders will give you a bracelet if you're underage. and during frosh as long as you don't have a double bracelet, they normally won't card you. a lot of my friends got fake id's because sometimes they will card you. you could probably find someone to give you one. it will be enforced though, although not always strictly, because they are responsible for you.

well, you can, but it's not as easy as you think. everyone participating in frosh has a bracelet. underaged kids get a double bracelet that's extra long and loops around twice. these bracelets can't be re-attached once they've been removed. There is a way to make a slit where the thing is, cut the extra long part off and then reattach it, but you have to be careful not to let it fall off or you won't get to do any more frosh activities. if you use tape to hold it together, make sure it's not obvious.

The Frosh activities are listed as stuff like "pub crawl", with some parties at clubs later that night. I don't know how it works in MTL, but...would 17 year olds still be allowed in the clubs?

technically you shouldn't be going to clubs or drinking since you're underage. But like some of the posters said, all you need is a fake id and you're good to go. a lot of times you won't even get carded. btw i'm talking in general 'cause i never went to my frosh but i used to go clubbing pretty often.

Here in the US they have clubs that are 17+ and 18+. You're allowed in, but no drinking. Is that how it is there, or just 18+? And as for the fake ID, they aren't easy to get, at least not where I live, so why do you all keep saying "oh, just get a fake ID"? Are they extremley easy to counterfeit in Quebec?

None of the clubs they take you to are going to be 17+. If you're not old enough you won't get to go clubbing or do the drinking activities, like the pub crawl. You can do the daytime activities though. I really don't know how easy it is to get a fake ID in Quebec. Most of my friends either came with one or managed to find one. A lot of people will just give you their old ID's. Ask around among froshees and frosh leaders and stuff. They're probably not supposed to, but I think frosh leaders will try and help you out. I gave someone an old driver's license I had. Just sign up and worry about getting into clubs and stuff later. If you can get a fake ID before you get here, it'll be best, but it won't be the end of the world if you don't.

A few years ago I went to a place called Medley. It was 16+ but no alcohol, but they never checked anyway. It was a pretty crappy place, horrible music, but it's possible that there are other 16 or 17+ places. But when my friends and I were 17, we always went to the 18+ places with fake ID. I dunno what ethnicity you are, but I'm asian and white people can't tell us apart (hehe jk), so I pretty much took my cousin's ID or a friend's ID who was over 18 and was also asian. I also knew someone who photoshopped an ID card but it's hard to do and you'll probably need a card printer or something.

if you manage to get a regular bracelet it'll be a free ride. I guess you could lie..that would be easiest. You'll have many options, don't worry.
