How do I go about changing it from home? the forms etc?

You need your parents to sign some forms, and then when you go to get your ID card, you use those along with showing your state issued drivers license to upgrade your EID.

How do I know when my EID is upgraded? I did the paperwork from home and I’m 19. They haven’t emailed me about anything… Someone know what’s going on?

[Contact the ID Center - ID Center](http://www.utexas.edu/its/help/id-center/207)

Call the number on that page. That’s where I got my id and also upgraded my eid. They should be able to help you.

You can enter your EID and it will show a form for you print if you are under 18. One of your parents will need to have it notorized. I took the form to the orientation and was able to upgrade my EID there. You can also mail it.

I’ve already gone to orientation though, can I mail it in?..I got my ID card but didn’t upgrade my EID

You can also upgrade on campus at another UT-system school: [Upgrading Your UT EID - ID Center](http://www.utexas.edu/its/help/id-center/208)

What if:

I turn 18 second day of orientation

I have no driver’s license?

You can upgrade at any point. Just do it the second day of orientation then.

If you have no drivers license, you’ll need some other proof of identity/age. I don’t know what is required though. Check the website or call them.

Even if you don’t drive, you can still get a Texas ID through DPS [DPS Texas Drivers License](http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/DriverLicense/index.htm)
another form of ID would be a passport or the new passport card [U.S. Passport Card](<a href=“U.S. Passports”>U.S. Passports)
