NOT a permanent resident, but have lived in Texas for 3+ years. In-state or international?

Hi!

I’ve been studying in Texas High school for 3-4 years now, but am confused whether my college application should be that of a US Freshman or International Freshman. I’ll be applying to Texas colleges only, so I’ll be using ApplyTexas forms to submit my applications. I’ve read stuff on A&M and UT Austin websites which suggest both options. If possible I’d like to be considered in-state.

Thank you.

For UT Austin, it looks as if you would count as in-state if you graduate from a Texas high school, and have lived in Texas for 36 months before graduation. Additionally: “If you are an international student seeking residency through high school graduation, you must submit a Residency Affidavit (PDF) stating that you will apply for permanent residency when you are eligible to do so.” Make sure you’re honest on this point!

@MaineLonghorn thanks, I’ll do that, also, do you have any clue about what I should do for a&m? Thanks.

I’ve send you a pm.

I found lot of info but not that form, thank you! @“International Dad”

Visa status and in state tuition eligibility are two different things. The latter depends on the school.
