NOT a top school for MBA?

Hey guys,

I have applied for an MBA to American University of Armenia in Armenia. The cshool is accredited and they say the diploma is VALID in the USA. I just would like to know how hard or easy it would be to get a decent job in the USA if I do my best in this program?

Thank you a lot! I look forward to hearing from you!

Gohar

Well, you are going to need a working VISA, which is not an easy thing to get.
On the other hand, if you do your MBA degree in the States, you can always charm an American girl and get your VISA :)

I do not know why pple think I am a male:D I am a female. And I do not think getting a work visa will be that hard since I have been in the USA twice on a J 1 visa. What I mean is HOW employers will look at an MBA not earned in the USA even though it is AMERICAN University of Armenia and is accredited with the University of California.

Gohar sounds so male :D

hard to be serious about considering an applicant from a school, where not only do you not know where the school is located, but you do not even know where the country it is in is located…

^^This sounded very racist.Armenia is an ex soviet republic

I do not see how it is racist… he merely stated the fact, that not a whole lot of people know where Armenia is, in comparison with China…

She can go to USC or UCLA and live in burbank/glendale area… Lots of single Armenians there… xp

Johnadams,

I hope the places I will apply pple will be LESS ignorant of geography or history or in general. I hoped to get some useful advice…disappointed…

thnx anyways

PS. There are millions of single Armenians in Armenia as well :P

goh, seriously not everybody knows where Armenia is.

and if the interview starts by discussing where it is located then you are already one step behind…

then there is the discussion of the business school…

if the interviewer has never heard of it then you are yet another step behind…

sorry but this is real life…

^^He is right. You`d better go to the crappriest MBA program in the USA than to the AUA.However, this is only in case you want to work in the USA.If you want to work in Armenia, then I guess AUA is more than fine :)

Thanks for advice. BUT a US MBA school is too expensive and I am UNABLE to afford it since the average salary in Armenia is 200 USD :frowning: And my government offers full tuition for those who are admitted to AUA. I will also be able to work full time and attend evening classes.

I heard of pple who got employed at US banks with degrees outside the USA. I mean, why would pple think I am dumb or smth, just coz I did not have the finances to go to a US school?

^^No one thinks you are dumb.
If you were an Armenian employer seeking to hire a manager of your company, who would you rather choose ?Someone with an MBA from AUA or someone with an MBA from…say Albania or Moldova ?

I dont think that would matter that much here in Armenia. Besides, I could get employed at an American company in Armenia (e.g.Microsoft) and maybe a few years later to work in the USA. Also, 25 % of AUA graduates are employed in the USA or Europe…:P

Based on what you said the financial situation is, this seems like the route to go

Thank you !!! I am aslo still waiting to hear from Columbia. Finger crossed…

^^You said you didnt have the financial resources to do MBA in the USA and you actually applied ?Good luck, anyway
Btw, what are your stats –> GPA,GMAT,Work Exp ?

I applied to AUA which is in Armenia and my government will pay the full tuition for me. I still have to take GMAT, GPA-3.8
