Not accepted as a Freshman, now apply as a Transfer

<p>I am a Texas senior who was not accepted to the school of my choice Yale. I plan to attend Texas A&M (college station) in the fall. I want to transfer into an ivy league school or other distinguished school like Johns Hopkins. My major is Biology and I want to double in History. Can someone tell me my chances or provide me with advice.</p>

<p>HS RECORD: Valedictorian 3.9 GPA unweighted
SAT 1200 Math and Reading
43 hours of college credit at local community college</p>

<p>I want to strive for perfect grades in my freshman year of college is my schedule rigorous enough? Should I take more any suggestions?</p>

<p>retake the SAT for a higher score (1350+ at least) if you plan on transferring to an Ivy league school. </p>

<p>course load seems rigorous enough but you can always take 5 courses instead of 4, which I did.</p>

<p>I would shoot for a junior transfer. Colleges that didn’t accept you this year are not going to take you with a 4.0 in 100 level classes, they will want to see some real accomplishment, reseach, leadership…something. Also agree the SATs need to go way up or try the ACT.</p>

<p>Did you apply to UT? I would try to pad your application for when you try to transfer as A&M isn’t seen as the best school in TX and might make it even harder for you to transfer than if you went to UT.</p>

<p>I applied to ut got in with a full ride, but was not what I was looking for in a school. </p>

<p>Is there any tips for another class I can take or replace another?</p>
