its online now good luck indianjatt :D

I was rejected. Hurts

Rejected from UCLA/UCSD - I wonder if I still have a chance at UCI (or UCD).

I feel the exact same way as you Seamore :(

Rejected from UCLA, no surprise. Rejected from UCSD, somewhat surprised. Better not get rejected from Irvine, UCSD was enough of a surprise.

■■■. 2 rejections. SD was my #1. If I don’t get into Irvine, Davis, SB I will be furious and depressed.

I can’t find when the rejections for UCI were sent out for last year. Does anyone know when the rejection wave starts coming through or does it occur on the last week?

UCI is the last school I’m waiting on which is ironic because I thought I would have heard from them before UCLA and UCSD.

guys…I am currently a freshman at UCI and i must say, I experienced the same thing a year ago. UCLA, for most people, was their “dream” school. I was actually on their alternate/waitlist for the School of Nursing, number 15 to be exact. The school counselor told me that last year, they admitted up to #30 on the list so this gave me such much hope. By the time offering people spots on the waitlist was over, they were able to admit up to number 11 on the waitlist, I assume because of the budget cuts. I was beyond depressed. I basically kept to myself for months and even tried appealing through the normal appeal and band appeal lol. When it came to sending SIRs, I decided to send it to UCI even though UCSD was an option(because UCI did offer me more $$ and I’ve been to UCSD too many times too haha. got pretty tired of the area. and plus, the school spirit and social life is better at Irvine). When I had to attend UCI’s orientation(SPOP), I realized that I would give UCI a chance. And I did. I gave my heart to it, and I fell in love with it. My friends at other UCs didn’t enjoy their orientation as much. They basically just toured their campuses and for one of them, the highlight of their orientation was a scavenger hunt(ahem ucla’s). Irvine’s orientation was complete with a talent show, various fun activities within the spirited hall you become a part of during the day and late at night, and you make friends(just search videos on youtube). Now as I’m about to enter my spring quarter in college, I don’t think my experience at any other UC would live up to what I have already experienced at UCI. UCI’s dorming experience is awesome(you actually get to know your neighbors and you have the opportunity to live in halls of about 50-70 people thus making the socializing experience more fun) and so many interesting and fun stuff happens on campus thanks to ASUCI, etc. UCLA is just overrated and you just have to accept that. They admit people from different ethnic and economic backgrounds even though some of them might be as smart or active. A person is extremely lucky to have been accepted to that institution and chances are small. They choose who they want to choose. But just know, all the other UCs and some other universities are just as good. If you have any questions, send me a message :)

Ahhh, the infamous “Carpe Diem” UCLA scavenger hunt. Yeah, that was fun.

But our tour wasn’t an ordinary tour. It was one where the Orientation officers made up absurd things to tell us about the school. Some of the stories they told us were quite entertaining.

EDIT: I’ve decided to remove my example story so not as to ruin it for UCLA students that haven’t experienced “orientation” yet.

Yup, that scavenger hunt. Many of the people I know didn’t participate in it. lol.

Rejected from UCLA and UCSD. I cried, then got lectured by my parents, and cried some more TT^TT. They told me they doubt I can even get into UCI. I don’t know if I give up hope just yet…

GPA: 3.9
SAT: 2160
SATII:
Chinese- 740
Math II- 710
Literature- 730

A lot of community service. Tutored kids, volunteered at the art center, and Chinese cultural center. Literally everyone I talk to has already received their UCI acceptances… and most of them have lower GPAs and SAT scores than I have. My major is Criminology, Law, and Society. What do you think my chances are?

^ you should get in… Wow, what kind of parents discourage their kids…

With those stats, you definitely would have gotten in last year. But I don’t know how much things have changed… but from my view, you should be able to get in.

Did anyone apply as fine art major?
I have not heard from UCI yet
Im sooooo worried right now =(

@trainrecc

i’m pretty sure you have good chances in being accepted. they probably just have something mixed up.
