Not asking for chances, but for help

I'm a rising sophomore, and I need some help with extracurriculars. What activities can I join that deal with books, since I want to be a book editor when I'm older? Trust me, I'm not doing activities just so colleges will like them, I'm doing them for me. I just need help finding them.

Here are my currect extracurriculars and activities I'll join sophomore year:

Academic Decathlon
Student Council
Volunteer at the library
School newspaper
Job at the library once I turn sixteen

Any help would be great.

Yearbook staff?

reach out and read program..it's all over the country...you deliver books to disadvantaged kids and read to them..i guess you can also create a literacy club, like looking at submitted works of art (i.e. a short story, poem, drawing, etc) and selling them for a profit to donate...just some organizations that are around me...

<a href="http://www.reachoutandread.org/index.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.reachoutandread.org/index.html</a></p>

Similar programs exist for seniors--for example, the City of Los Angeles' library department has a program called "Service to Shut-Ins" that delivers books and films to seniors in nursing homes throughout the city. (I used to be active in this--and even some celebrities were active members.)

Also, writing articles for the school newspaper is good, as is starting a writing (literary) workshop program to help others to write.

Good luck to you.

Thanks everyone. This is all great advice. One of the things I was thinking was starting a literary magazine at my school or a club. Any advice on how to get the administration to let me?
