Hello everyone,
I have just taken the Online Spanish Placement Test and placed into Spanish 2020. However, I only took 3 years of Spanish in high school and havn’t spoke or wrote spanish in over a year. I believe I placed this high because I reviewed over the past week grammar and tenses. However, I am not confident of my speaking or writing abilities. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to take Spanish 2010? Will most people in the class be the same level as me? (3 years of spanish) or will people have taken AP Spanish in high school or something?
Thanks so much!
I am a rising first year too and I think you have to take the highest level you place into, sorry. I am about to take the test. Can you tell me what the format of the test is like? What is best to review before taking it? Thanks!
Never mind I just thought after i posted this that it may not be appropriate for you to provide insight about the format of the test. Good luck to you!
@uvastudent123 I’d recommend trying 2020 for a few weeks, and dropping it if you don’t feel prepared! Taking a higher level course can be beneficial because you can finish the requirement early and have room for more classes.
2020 is NOT a difficult class, no matter which professor you get. There are a ton of grades – homework, quizzes, participation, tests, projects, and exams. It’s more like high school than many other classes, which could have just 2 exams. For that reason, it isn’t hard to pull off a respectable grade if you work hard. Do your homework, participate in class, and do the silly projects. You can get 100s in those areas even if you’re awful at Spanish. Plus, most of the professors are happy to help.
