not continuing after the semester

I am on grants from financial aid and I may consider to quit after this semester is over. What will happen to my financial aid like will I have to repay them back even though they are grants, also if I want to re-enroll what are my chances of being rewarded financial aid again?

Are there conditions to the grants? There’s a grant in NYS that requires students to work in the state for 5 years after graduation or the grants revert to loans. If the student left the school after a year, I expect the grants would revert to loans. If there weren’t any conditions to your grants (other than a GPA minimum), then they don’t have to be paid back.

Financial aid is awarded, not “rewarded,” and you can’t count on getting the same package if you leave the college. If you take an approved leave, maybe, but you’d have to check with your college to find out what their policies are. If you’re seriously considering going back, why ate you leaving?

Any loans?

Why are you considering not returning to school? I am very concerned when students leave after one semester. I strongly encourage you to visit your school’s academic advising center to talk to them. Maybe they can help you figure out a way to make things work for you in school.
