not doing well in online classes

I sign up for 3 classes online. One in programming, writing, and business. I am really getting behind. My problem is not the workload. I can handle 3 classes and I only work less than 20 hours a week. I just have a hard time reading the lectures online--I can't concentrate, my eyes hurt. last semester I took one online class and the professor post video lectures, so it was easy to follow. But all 3 of the classes, they don't have videos just plain text. I tried priting all the lectures, and I felt like I am wasting all the papers and ink because I only read them once, and I print about 100 pages a week.

I don't know what advice I want. I just realize that online classes are not the same. Some professors are really hard working and tries to make the class interactive. Some are just lazy, and they don't care if you learn anything, they just want you to do the work and give you credit.

Now, I feel frustrated, I thought it was a good idea, save me money from commuting, and I can just study and take the quiz in my own time.

In my experience, online classes are generally a hit or miss. I’ve had that problem too with staring at a computer screen for several hours on end - Try messing with the settings on your monitor to make it less bright so that it’s easier on your eyes. That helped me a lot.

What are you using for a monitor?

hamburgler, I just change the brightness of my monitor and that really help alot. It was too bright, now it is easier to read.

You know, what you said is really true. Online classes are not created equal. I should try to enroll classes in the same professor next time, if they teach that class or maybe do my research on the professor before taking their class.

But too late now, I just need to pass the classes now.
