not enough ECs

I know a major component of college applications are ECs—but I don't really have any that are two significant. As a junior in HS, what should I join that would look good to college? Of course, I also want to enjoy these ECs, not just do them for college admissions. That being said, I'm not super athletic or musical or anything like that. What are some ECs that would be a good addition to my resume?

Think about your hobbies and interests. Think about ECs that overlap with those hobbies and interests. Those are the ones that would be a good addition.

Colleges don't want someone who did lots of nifty things just because they look, well, nifty. They want a human being with interests who is willing and able to act on those interests.

what are you into?

politics? join Young Democrats/Republicans at your school.
community service? join NHS/Key Club, and find places to volunteer.
Computers? join computer graphics/editing type clubs.
Debate? join debate club.
Engineering or Tech-type stuff? Join the robotics club.
etc etc

if your school doesn't have such clubs, you should talk to a teacher about starting it yourself. that shows initiative, and it'll look a lot better on your app when it says (President/Founder).

and remember, don't just join/start stuff to start them. only do stuff that you actually have a passion for, instead of joining random clubs.
