Not enough extracurriculars?

In school, I'm involved with one club. Outside of school, I work part-time. Together, these two activities take up most of my time.

Of course, I have some hobbies on the side. For example, I write for a local magazine and a news group, but these are unpaid positions that I do for fun and don't take up much time.

Should my lack of extracurriculars be a concern?

Nope, you’re fine. People think that the more ecs you have the better, but this is simply not true. Ecs are about expanding on your interests. Devoting your time to one or two things you’re actually interested in is a lot better than devoting it to numerous things you couldn’t care less about besides putting them on a resume or application. You’re fine, keep doing what you’re doing :)

The writing is more interesting. Do something with it.

For the vast vast majority of US colleges, ECs are not evaluated for admission. Only the tippy top schools give any heed to them.
