<p>It depends how you present yourself in the application, make sure you stay in the minds of the adcom w/ original essays etc.</p>

<p>I find SAT prep a useless waste of time - I've seen far too many people waste their lives away on learning how to work a multiple choice test. </p>

<p>I didn't study with the SATs specifically in mind, except when I did some blue book exercises to freshen up the week beforehand. Probably five hours all together.</p>
