Not enough room for extracurriculars!

<p>I have been involved in 17 extracurricular activities. I have no idea how I"m going to decide which ones not to include on the list. Could I include a resume? I've devoted a lot of time to these activities, and hate the thought that colleges will never know about some of them.</p>

<p>Wow! Seventeen. That’s a lot. Maybe too many? Are you counting each individual volunteer activity as an extracurricular activity? You might consider grouping certain types of volunteer activities together.</p>

<p>And, don’t they ask you for the number of hours, days, weeks, etc.? You’ll need to make sure that the time you enter adds up correctly.</p>

<p>I’m a member of my church youth group, and devote many hours a week to that. Much of that is service. I plan to continue in college, and most colleges I’m looking at do have a student association for my religion.
I’m the president of my school’s chapter of the Junior Statesmen of America, and founded this chapter.
I helped to found and hold a leadership position in a teenage political party. I’m not going to say what party.
I volunteer in a Congressman’s office in my home state.
I have volunteered on two campaigns for my state senate, and hold a position as social media coordinator on the most recent one.
I’m a captain on my debate team. I have been competing at a varsity level since sophomore year, when it was first available to me. I was region champion my sophomore year.
I belong to my school’s historical society.
I’m a member of my city’s youth council, which teaches about government and participates in service.
I’m a volunteer docent at a local history museum.
I’m a member of NHS and am the service committee chairman.
I volunteer as a call screener, promote, and research for a local political talk radio show.
I’m a member of the political science club at my school, which is an extension of our AP comp/us gov class, and hope to hold a leadership position.
I’m a member of the Key Club, which is a service club.
I’m a member of the English Literacy club.
I’m a member of the Finer Things club, which is an extension of our AP Literature class.
I’m a member of my local library’s teen advisory board. We write reviews on media and hold events at the library.
I’m also a member of the Harry Potter club, but that’s just for fun, not applications.</p>
