Not enough students for a class I need to take?

Hello, I’m going to be a junior at Vandy next year and a math major. Thing is, I only started taking math classes second semester sophomore year, so I have a LOT of catch up to do. I need to take MATH 1301 (second half of MATH 1300) this fall, but only 4/36 students have enrolled. I don’t expect many more people to sign up for this class, since it is typically a spring class. If this class is cancelled, I will be forced to take this class in the spring, which would force me to stay an extra year at Vandy to complete my major. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of situation? Should I be worried?

Thanks for listening.

I don’t know what will happen with your class. What I can tell you is that last semester S had a class of 8 students that could have held 30 - 36. There were 2 other sections that were full. I was concerned that the class would be cancelled and he would have to rearrange his schedule, but it wasn’t.

I would contact your adviser and see what they have to say. Remember that there is typically a lot of movement during open enrollment and the add/drop period.
