Not enough volunteering hours?

So far during high school, I've done maybe 100 hours of volunteer work. Everyone else seems to have over 200 hours put in, making me feel like colleges will look at me and see some kid not interested in helping people. How many hours do some other people have? Is around 100 bad?

Oh and I really enjoy this forum, even though everyone seems to be geniuses :p

Colleges barely care about volunteering hours.

its about passion and commitment
not numbers

for some people, their passion is some form of community service, which allows them to put 1000 hours into it

as long as you have something that you are passionate about, and convey that, you aren't going to be at a disadvantage

also, the fact that you have 100 hours is nothing to scoff at, especially if your high school only requires 10-20 to graduate

If you feel passionate about what you are doing..
and you can convey to other people that you are committed,
I don't think the hours matter that much ?

Can someone tell me exactly where on the applications it asks how many hours you volunteer? I put that I am a volunteer at my local hospital. I was required to put the rough estimate of hourage per week and what years of high school I did it in. I did it as a junior and senior so amount really is irrevelant.

Many applications do not have a section where you put the amount of hours.. some of the ones I've done asked you to list and explain them, etc
