Hi everyone,
I’m going to be a senior this coming school year, and I’m planning on applying to UC Irvine, my dream school.
I took the SAT in June and got a pretty average score… 1580. I know that the average SAT score for UC Irvine is around 1850, and I’m pretty sure I’ll only score a 1600-1700 when I retake it this October…
So, I’m considering taking the ACT in September to have that score just in case. Is that a good decision?
Also, I wanted to ask, when should I send in my SAT/ACT scores? Is there a specific time period to send them in?
I think you should take the ACT. When I first took my ACT, I got a composite score of 25 (which is around 1700s). When I first took my SAT, I made a 1590… I think that you’re ACT score will be better off than your SAT score so it’s a good decision. But I don’t really know when you should send your scores? Maybe like right after you receive the full report and everything because it’s kind of too late after the October SAT to take anything else. Maybe they have it on their websites or something so you should go check it out!
Wow, those are good ACT scores! Makes me feel more hopeful in taking the ACT. I’ve decided that I will take the ACT in October, along with retaking the SAT in October as well. I’ll have both scores when I apply for my colleges, and hopefully, they’ll be better scores! Thank you guys for your responses!!
And there are lists of test optional schools to consider as well
