Not feeling my first semester, need advice

Hello,

So my situation is quite different from others, and i need some advice from people who may have experienced something like this or someone who may know more about this topic. I am a freshman student on my second semester. I moved from California (been living there my whole life) to Texas since my father said he would help me pay for school if i applied at Texas colleges. So i did that, and i am now at some school in Texas that i didn’t really want to come too. I wanted to stay in California but i wasn’t able to because my mother was moving out to Texas now too. I already did not like being out here first of all. My first semester i majored in business and ended up failing 3 courses so i changed my major to design since i always loved designing, and art. I am currently in design and i want to make a plan to go back to California and live there. So what I need advise is how could I do it? I probably can not transfer for awhile because i didnt do well my first semester correct? how can i as a undergraduate still attend school and move back to california? Would i have to go to a community college or do i reapply to colleges with my highschool information?

If anyone has anymore info on this, please let me know!

Are you parents willing to pay for your college in you go back to California?

You could possibly apply again as freshmen if you don’t declare your texas transcript. Are one of your parents still in CA? Do you want to apply to CA state school?

Truth be told with 3 Fs on your transcript transferring won’t be easy. Can you stay put? readjust your mind set. Maybe get some professional help with facing all the adjustment in your life. The first year of college is rally hard on a lot of kids you are not alone.

If you want to live in CA permanently, it might do you good to spend this time, seeing another part of the country. College is just a small blip in your whole life. I would approach a school counselor and tell them how you feel. Maybe they can guide you towards a degree plan where you will learn skills that will apply toward getting a job in CA after graduation. Don’t give up! Good luck.

Are you suggesting lying?

It will depend upon the school. Some school’s will consider applicants as first time freshmen if they have less than 24 credits.

If you are interested in the California UC’s or Cal States, you need to apply as a Junior level transfer: 60 semester or 90 quarter units.

Not so sure about that…
