Not getting IB Diploma --> effect on admissions?

Hi, I'm a senior in HS and a IB Full diploma candidate. Today I found out that I potentially won't be getting the diploma because of reliability issues with my Extended Essay (I messed up footnoting, which leads my advisor to suspect I plagiarized). I have taken all IB courses so far in my HS career, and have completed CAS (community service) and gone far beyond it with my community service. In terms of the academics/ECs, I am the same student, but now I won't be getting an "IB Full Diploma" in addition to my "HS Diploma", however I did do all the advanced IB-level courses.

In my applications (done earlier), I listed that I'd be graduating with an IB Diploma. Now that I'm not getting it, how badly will that affect my admissions results? Namely, I am worried about the UC decisions.

I also have received multiple acceptances/scholarships to OOS schools (on a scale of 1CC-10Harvard, they'd be 5-7 on selectivity), I think I have to call the admissions offices and tell them I won't be getting a diploma? Do you think they would revoke my acceptances?

In brief, my stats are:
UW GPA: 3.7, W GPA: 4.3
ACT: 35
subject tests: 780,800
300+ comm. service
multiple leadership positions

Every one of my classes from junior/senior year are IB but one (which is AP)

A depressing thread, but I would really appreciate your input.
Thanks for your time.

i would say that getting the full diploma wouldn’t really matter at all. you took all the ib courses, which shows that you obviously had a very rigorous schedule through all of high school (i am a diploma candidate so i know.) I wouldn’t worry about it. colleges wouldn’t know if you got the diploma anyways until the summer when you’re already accepted.

Parent of a senior IB student here –

The issue here isn’t whether you get the diploma – it’s that your advisor thinks you may have plagiarized. THAT is what colleges will have difficulty swallowing.

Right now, I’d focus my attention on getting square with your EE and advisor. Can you go back and fix/add/correct footnotes so that your advisor is comfortable signing off on your paper? Can you show the advisor the research you did (notes? highlighted articles?) to indicate you did the work? If you did cut corners, can you rework your paper to reflect what you DID do?

I know you are probably burned out and fed up by now (believe me, we have had some serious IB stress at our house the past two months), but you do NOT want all this work to be down away by academic dishonesty.

If EE isn’t for a grade, and you don’t want the diploma, just screw it. Same with the TOK paper and, if you’re really “I don’t give a damn,” stop doing CAS.
