I took the SAT's on February and my scores were: CR 650 Math 640 and W 550... i took them again in May and i got: 710 CR Math 560 and W 670... So is it true that colleges only take the higher scores of each section? And, if they do, when i'll send my scores the COllegeboard will send them both or i have to choose, how does it work? And, last question, The colleges that i want the most are Cornell, Gtown, Brown, Rice and UChicago - I also have more modest options but those are my priorities... And i'm an international from Latin America..So what would u say about my results for these colleges

for those colleges, i would say they are a bit low, unless you have an awesome transcript/ECs/essays/etc

check out the midrange SAT scores for these schools. you can probably find them on collegeboard.com

I would've said that everything looked good but then I noticed that your math score dropped hard the second time you took the test. It is true that most colleges claim to take the highest score from each section to get your composite score, but they also see how your scores fluctuated and the fact that your math score dropped so much might make them a bit iffy on the math. Also, a few colleges only take the highest you scored in one sitting, not the highest in each section. Check each colleges website to find out how they look at SATs.
