Not good news

I just saw that Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. That is not a good thing. Has anyone ever come back from one of Nick Saban’s indefinite suspensions?

I have to admire Saban. He sticks to his guns! He knows that if there is one little slip up by any of his players, staff, coaches, etc that there are teams and people out there ready to bring them down. What he probably won’t put up with from his players is probably not even warrant for a slap on the hand by most other coaches.

Rumor is that he had communication with an agent…a big no no.

These agents are out of hand! They know the rules and blatantly break them knowing it could ruin the kids “career” in sports and bring down an entire team. It’s time they start naming the agents and ban them for good from being able to represent any sports player at all. Something needs to be done to these scumbag agents!

Couldn’t agree more, TxNewCollegeMom. But if the rumors are true, Ha Ha is responsible for his choices. Saban and his staff go over NCAA regulations ad nauseum with the team to equip these young men with the information they need to choose wisely.

How about some better news, a little ebony and ivory moment from last week in Alabama:

Don’t make Saban the noble Solomonesque dispenser of justice in this situation, because he’s not. Agent involvement can get the entire program put on probation. This is not like one of the players smoking weed or getting into a bar fight. This is about player eligibility.

The Honey Badger and Jordan Jefferson are long gone, slippy. Don’t let them haunt you a minute longer. ;)

^^^

lol

People making digs at Saban over this issue are out of line.

Who’s making digs? Saban is smart enough to know what can sink a program. He had zero choice in this situation if reports are true. None.

agree with malanai.

if someone calls me that i am not allowed/don’t want to talk to, i don’t talk to them.

the player is responsible for his actions if he broke the rules.

these rules are not a secret. players know better and choose to break them anyway.

While it’s against the rules, it doesn’t seem like this should be some huge violation.

It’s not like he was guilty of two counts of sexual battery, underage drinking, obstruction, disorderly conduct, providing a false ID…AND Mettenberger still got picked up by LSU.

If he misses two, it’s GSU and UK.

Clinton-Dix has been officially reinstated by the NCAA and is cleared to play. I haven’t heard that he’s reinstated by Saban, but I’m assuming he’ll play tomorrow.

Glad to hear he’s back!

I think the NCAA has to change its rules about such things. When people get into a desperate situation (things being stolen/lost), then there should be some solution that doesn’t result in suspension.

Maybe Athletic Depts should be able to issue short-term loans?
