i'm really considering princeton for early decision, but i got a B+ in calc BC both semesters this year. i'm not planning to major in math or science, but i'm also asian....and expected to be good at math (at least i think i am). my grades otherwise are strong and i go to one of the top public high schools in california with good ecs in the field that i plan to go into.

basically, i'd like to know if it matters to princeton that i'm a little weak at math.....thanks!

You took calc bc junior year? Wow. Impressive.

Don't worry. Its not a problem. And they won't discriminate cause you're asian.

Officer 1: Oh, he got a B+ for 2 semesters on Calc BC in his junior year
Officer 2: What ethnicity?
Officer 1: Asian
Officer 2: Ouch...reject.

That WILL NOT happen (at least i hope not)

Don't worry, you're fine. You seem smart.

this is question that is kind of related...is it unique to be asian and into history/english? or does princeton not seem to care if you are purple speckeled and interested in anything?

If you are in BC, than your aren't "weak" in math. I took AB and got in, and had my share of B +s in honors science courses. The strength of your application will depend on how good you are in your main academic subject(s). Basically, there are two groups of people who get into Princeton - all around flawless students, and all around very strong students with a particular skill in one area. Princeton needs humanities concentrators; if they think you can help their history department, for instance, you have a good chance. I could help you more if I knew your rank and SAT scores.

my school doesn't rank, but i'm top 5%, and i got 790 M, 790 V, and 780 W. and thanks for the advice!
