recently a friend of mine was falsely accused by a teacher of cheating on an exam by means of a "cheat sheet". the teacher claims to have been suspicious of the student, asking him to move his arms and hands, upon doing this the teacher found nothing but reported the incident none the less. the student has denied the accusations and is awaiting a trail from the honor council. what are you thoughts on this? are there any steps to take in order to prepare? what can he expect?

man that sucks. At my school, teachers are omnipotent and there's no way getting around an academic honesty accusation. This also happened to one of my friends at a public school in my area, and she was forced to step down as Senior Class President.

Remember, REASONABLE DOUBT!!!!! Burden of proof is on the teacher, not the student. They have to prove guilt BEYOND ALL REASONABLE DOUBT. Ask that the judge or the chair of the council throw the case out based on lack of cause/evidence.
