if you want to o business check out Notre Dame.

@missouriboy what do you think my chances are for Notre Dame? Just checked it out and seems like a program I might be interested in.

Get the test scores up to a 2300/35 and you’ll be in for sure. I was in the top 1% of the applicant pool with a 4.1 weighted, a 35,good ECs, and great essays. Oh but just a btw next year you have to apply specifically to Mendoza, which may make it harder to get into, but for one of the best schools in the country who cares, best of luck!

I don’t think you need a 2300/35 to get into Notre Dame for Mendoza, it’s no Wharton…if you have a 1450+/1600 (with 700+ in both CR and M), I think you’d be in. As for UNC, it’s an extremely hot school for Econ/Business, so it’s becoming progressively harder to get in (i.e. I don’t think it’s hit its lower bound for acceptance rate yet). Also where are your subject tests? Many of those schools require 'em. Do Math 2 as one if you want to do business.

I’d also suggest checking UMiami (FL) if you want to go to a good undergrad business program, you’d probably get a nice sum of merit money and you’d undoubtedly get in.

@ZaZa94 I have not yet taken any subject tests

Make sure to take at least 2! They should be easy given that you’re doing AP classes - the curriculum for the tests really align with the APs. Best of luck!

Huge bump for me finishing junior year strong and actually only getting 1 B instead of 2! That puts my transcript with all A’s and one B. Also got a 5 on apush and apeng and a 4 in apes (class I got a B in). Brings my gpa to a 3.92uw and a 4.8w.

Took the act once, received a 32.

Also secured a officer role as NHS and my church youth group and just visited nyu and cornell!

I’m really curious on my updated chances on cornell for ED because I really loved the campus and environment!

Thanks guys.

Your SAT scores need to be higher for these schools. I’d recommend at least a 2200. Also, I thought all NC juniors were required to take the ACT during their junior year. Anyways, a 34 on that should suffice for any college. Here’s my best guess of your school chances:

UNC Chapel Hill (instate)- High Match (tough!)
NC State (instate)- Low Match
Cornell- Reach
NYU- Low Reach
Boston University- Match
Wake Forest- High Match
UPenn (humor me)- Reach
UC Berkeley- Low Reach
U of Chicago- Reach
Duke- Reach

Yeah man I was required to take the act I posted the op before I finished the year, the post right before yours is updated :).

Thanks for your input

good luck

To the top! Please read my previous update post of mine on page 2

I’ll give you my definitions if it helps put everyone on the same page:

High reach: 0-5% chance
Reach: 5-15%
Low reach: 15-25%
High match: 25-40%
Match: 40-60%
Low match: 60-99%
Safety: 100%

I think Duke, Chicago, Penn and Cornell are reaches.

The rest are low reaches, high matches or matches.

UNC Chapel Hill (instate)- high match
NC State (instate)- 2 ez
Cornell- Low Reach
NYU- High Match
Boston University- Match
Wake Forest- High Match
UPenn (humor me)- Reach
UC Berkeley- High Match
U of Chicago-Reach
Duke- Reach

Bro, you gotta get up and do some more extra curriculurs that show you have set up your mind about a major to really put up an impactful application. It’s good you got a 32. Would help greatly. It’s hard to say. You look like you got a load of things, but aren’t focused on what you think you want to be. They love ADULTS who can take their decisions and put them into action. Like pretend like engineering, and you do some sort of extra engineering courses in your local college or join a science competition and show off your skill, etc., but you not having this isn’t going to hurt you. I am just saying that if you had something like this, it would greatly be to your benefit. You do have a lot things going for you, and some of these people are being tough on you. Just have good essays that you think will highlight your good qualities to the adcom, and they’re going to love you.

Could you please chance me back, too? Thanks!!
