I am ranked 25/205 and am in the 12.1%, do you think that by not being in the top ten I will be adversely affected in cornell ed to CAS, my sat scores are in the range, 1420/2140, 760 math IIC, 750 BIOM with good ecs, recs, and essays ,

The majority of their students are in the top 10%. Once again, you have a chance, but it might be slightly harder because they don't see those single digits.

http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000154.pdf --> shows % of students that were in the top 10% of their high school class by college by year. hope it helps.

Wow, I'm surprised at the chart. Almost 90% top decile.

my school doesn't rank....is that bad?

rohan. Your school wouldn't be the only one in the nation. Shouldn't affect you.

no school in my county ranks. but if you look at your entire class vs yourself, you could probably tell where you fall

If your school doesn't rank, it won't hurt you at all. Many schools got rid of ranking in the last decade. The Valedictorian/Saluditorian are usually the only ones that get hurt by not being ranked...in those cases, the counselor recommendation could mention the student's status as Val or Sal.

HumEc and ILR are are 94% and 91%, respectively. Nice.

It's also interesting to see the trends in the 'no rank' category, 17% in 1987 to 58% last year.

i'm not in the top 10% (uw)

dude, i wasnt even top 50%, with a 2230 sat and 3.9 uw gpa. don't even worry about it.

yeah top decile shouldn't be a determining factor.... i know various ppl who have gotten accepted with a 3.5 uw and pretty nice SATs. i go to a school where 15 of top 20 students all applied ED to Yale and they all have an equally probable chance. But i'm still screwed even for the CALS school

haah wow. thank god my school doesnt rank. my rank is 80/120 with a 3.0 gpa.. lol

Jimgo, even with that GPA you don't stand to much of a chance to be honest. Being in Jersey doesn't help much either I'm afraid.
