I am with you on that one. I am thinking it’s going to end up like where the teacher tells the class to partner up with someone, and you still the only one looking around for someone to partner up with where as everyone has a partner already. I hate those outcasted feelings. This is more than likely going to happen to me.

Oh guys don’t worry about orientation and your roommate. Here is how it will go:

You walk in to the sign-in thing and ask them if you roommate has checked in already.
If yes: You feel happy that you will be able to dominate the room.
If no: You feel a sense of unhappiness from the fact that you will be with someone else for 2 days.

As you approach your door:
If your roommate has not checked in: You feel excited to get to have your own room for 2 days in a different environment.
if you roommate has checked in: You dread walking through that door not knowing what horror lies on the other side.

After you enter:
If roommate is there: You proceed to say hello and make small talk as you start unpacking.
If roommate is not there: You proceed to lock the door and start poking your nose in your roommates things to see what kind of a person they are.

After meeting your roommate:
Everything is allright! Yaay!

As far as classes go, when you first enter your class, make sure your name is know. If you are a shy person like moi, just say “Sup bish” to the first person you see. If you are outgoing person, well you already know what to do.

If you get in that situation where the teacher asks you to pair up with someone. The best way for you to NOT FEEL like an outcast is to just yell out, “Does anyone want to be my partner?!” Make sure you blurt it out though. The longer you see people start pairing up, the more sad you start feeling. Just say it, trust me, it always gets a few giggles and chuckles and sure enough someone will say “Yay, i wanna be your partner satscholar!”

Actually at orientation your roommate is most likely going to be the person in line next to you. I came to orientation with my friend so it didn’t matter and we roomed together.

Lol satscholar. That actually made me feel so much better and made me laugh

Haha i hoped it would, just trying to ease the anxiety that freshmen feel in a new enviro :O
