I recently decided to attend a CCC. I have already met with a UC Davis (target school) transfer counselor and will be meeting with an advisor from my CC this week. I will be going into a low unit, non impacted, non stem major (Design). Combined with AP Credits, I will be nearly done with IGETC (as recommended for a BA) this semester, with maybe 3 classes tops the next. I met with the counselor and we discussed how there are ~4 major prep classes offered at my CC which I will take next semester. So basically, after this year, I will have no required IGETC or lower division classes available to me. Originally, I intended to fill the gap with classes I felt were relevant to my major (Art Digital Media, etc.) and maybe a few interesting unrelated classes too, just to get to the 60 units needed for transfer. What should I be doing? I intend to TAG.
If you complete all possible major requirements and IGETC for UCD design and still need more credit to reach 60 semester units, consider:
- Courses that fulfill major requirements for other campuses you may be considering (and if any others are CSUs, any different IGETC/GE requirements).
- Courses at another CC that may cover the UCD design courses not covered by courses at your CC.
- Electives in any other area of interest you have.
@ucbalumnus I just went over my 2 year plan and that’s what I’m doing! I’m fulfilling all possible UC and CSU graduation requirements, with a few transferable electives as well. Thanks!
