I graduated from high school in August of this year and I plan to go to college next fall. This is because I took my last English credit in summer school so I could graduate early and have a gap year between high school and college.
The University of South Carolina is my top choice for colleges, but it has some academic requirements that I didn't meet.
It says I need to have taken English Literature and American Literature, and I haven't taken either. English Lit isn't even offered at my school, and I could have taken American Lit this year if I didn't graduate early. Summer school didn't offer that course. I took AP English Language in junior year, though, if that counts for anything.
Also, it says I need three units of laboratory science. I took biology and chemistry, but in my junior year I took AP Environmental Science, and apparently that doesn't count as the third science credit at USC.
What should I do? I'm pretty sure it's too late to even sign up for classes at community college.
